Graduation Year: 2025

Post-Graduation Activities:
I decided to take a gap year before going to college.  I was able to get an internship working in the facility maintenance department at Copper Mountain in Colorado.

What was your favorite thing about Vanguard?
One of my favorite things about Vanguard was the emotional support dogs, small classroom sizes and all of the support from the teachers and counselors.

How did Vanguard help prepare you for life after graduation?
Vanguard taught me how to work through conflict with people, which has definitely helped me navigate situations with my co-workers and my boss.

Do you have any significant Vanguard memories you would like to share?
One of my favorite memories was winning the basketball championship and being a valedictorian of my class.

Were there any teachers or staff members that made a special impact on you?
Mr. Goodnight and Ms. Beth. Mr. Goodnight was my counselor and taught me that you never forget painful experiences, but you can move on and not allow them to control your life.  Ms. Beth was the best teacher — her classes weren’t boring, and I learned a lot.

Is there any advice you would give to current or future Vanguard students?
Listen to the advice from the staff.  They really do know what they are talking about.
