About the Launch Program

The Launch Program helps young adults with autism and other neurodiverse learners transition confidently into independent adulthood. Through therapeutic guidance, individualized support, and comprehensive resources, participants develop the skills, confidence, and tools to live with greater independence, pursue goals, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Our holistic approach focuses on six areas: applied academics, college and vocational pathways, community volunteering, social skills, independent living skills, and executive functioning—preparing students for real-world challenges and long-term success.

We partner with organizations such as HUGS, the Texas Workforce Commission, Bridges, Momentous Institute, and the Dallas Buckner Center for Humanitarian Aid to provide hands-on experience and community connections beyond the classroom. Launch empowers each young adult to build independence, find purpose, and step confidently into the future.

The Launch Programs

Applied Academics

Academic sessions in reading, writing, and math (group or one-on-one setting) and supervised study halls for those students working on college or vocational class work from other higher education programs.

College/Vocational/Community Volunteer

Degree, certificate, or trade school? In-person or online? It’s their choice. Located close to Dallas College, students have the opportunity to pursue their program of interest with the support of Launch staff. Students volunteer in the community to gain employment skills.

Social Skills

Students improve social skills as they explore topics such as dating, understanding boundaries, perspective taking, and fostering lasting friendships. Students learn through one-on-one mentoring sessions, organized social events, and activities planned by peers to develop essential interpersonal skills.

Independent Living Skills

Topics such as household organization, health and wellness, and financial management are covered. Students create a budget and meet 1:1 with their Launch instructor to discuss bill payment, expense management, and bank account reconciliation.

Executive Functioning

Executive functioning skill coaching is woven through all aspects of the Launch program. Students receive tailored instruction in time management from developing routines to the planning and completion of tasks. Students also work on prioritization, problem-solving, setting goals, and following through.
