Beth Trout has a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and has been teaching in the classroom since 2012. Since joining Vanguard, she has primarily taught High School science and math. Beth enjoys the daily challenge of bringing deeper understanding to her students. She is also the proud Mom of a 2013 Vanguard graduate.
Justice Turner is a non-commissioned officer from the Missouri National Guard and received his Bachelor of Art from Southeast Missouri State University. He also received his Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. Before moving to Texas and joining the Vanguard team, Justice taught mathematics in the Chicago Public School system. When he is not working, Justice enjoys media and music production.
Lauren Sobolewski received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. She is a Registered Behavior Technician and has provided behavior therapy in public schools, clinics, and the community since 2015. Lauren is currently pursuing a Master’s in Psychology and Behavior Analysis, and upon graduation, will seek national certification. Lauren enjoys weightlifting, exploring new vegetarian restaurants, and watching movies with her husband in her free time.
Roomana Shaikh completed her Masters in TESOL Education (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Lehman College in New York. She has previously taught English Adult learners and middle and high schoolers in public school. Roomana was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and her family is from Pakistan. She writes and publishes poetry and loves to cook and try new cuisines.
Spencer Elrod received his undergraduate degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from the University of Missouri, where he also played football. He is currently completing his master’s in Special Education from Grand Canyon University. Spencer has been in education since 2017 and will be teaching and coaching at Vanguard. He has a passion for teaching and guiding students to their own successes. Outside of school, Spencer enjoys working out, traveling, and adventuring.
Stephanie has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology with over 20 years of experience working with children who have learning and emotional differences. Stephanie has worked in a locked therapeutic facility in Missouri for youth offenders and at Our Friend’s Place, a therapeutic group home for girls in Dallas. Stephanie teaches English and Sign Language. She is the Entrepreneurial Program team lead.
